Mini Food Explorers runs hands-on cooking workshops for children throughout the year in Berkshire, covering everything from baking basics to making impressive meals from scratch.
Each session is designed to be fun, relaxed and genuinely educational — children get stuck in from the moment they arrive, working with real ingredients and learning skills they'll use for life.
Our workshops are kept small, with a maximum of eight children per session, so every child gets plenty of individual attention and support from Jemma.
Sessions vary in length depending on the event, and all equipment and ingredients are provided — children just need to arrive ready to cook, with an apron to keep their clothes clean.

🎃 Halloween Cooking Workshop
Our popular Halloween workshops get children cooking and creating with a spooky twist. From frighteningly good bakes to themed savoury dishes, it's a brilliant way to celebrate the season while picking up real cooking skills.
🍝 Pasta Making Masterclass
Children learn to make fresh pasta from scratch — one of those satisfying skills that feels like magic the first time you do it. They'll knead, roll and cut their own pasta and finish it with a delicious sauce, taking home both the skills and the recipe.
🐣 Easter Baking Workshop
Our Easter sessions are always a favourite — children bake and decorate seasonal treats to take home, learning proper baking techniques along the way. Perfect for the school holidays.
🎄 Gingerbread House Workshop
A festive classic. Children build and decorate their own gingerbread house from scratch, learning baking basics and letting their creativity run wild with the decorating. A wonderful Christmas activity that makes a great gift too.
🌞 Holiday Cooking Classes
Throughout the school holidays we run themed cooking sessions designed to keep children engaged, active and learning. Holiday classes cover a range of recipes and cuisines, giving children a chance to try something new each time.

Just an apron! All ingredients, equipment and recipe cards are provided by us. Children don't need any prior cooking experience — just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in. We'd also recommend they arrive having had something to eat beforehand so they can focus on cooking rather than snacking.

We keep our workshops small — a maximum of 8 children per session — so that every child gets proper individual attention and support throughout. This makes for a much better experience than larger classes where children can get lost in the crowd.
