Total: 30 mins
Makes 8

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl

  • Rolling pin

  • Large frying pan

Ingredients

  • 125g self-raising flour

  • 125g Greek yoghurt (or dairy-free Greek style yoghurt)

  • ½ tsp baking powder

Method

  1. Weigh all ingredients into a large bowl and mix with a spoon to form a dough.

  2. The dough will be sticky. Generously flour the work surface and turn the dough out.

  3. Divide into 8 small pieces and roll into balls.

  4. Using a well-floured rolling pin, roll each ball into an oval shape.

  5. Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook a few pittas at a time for approx 2 minutes each side.
If the pan begins to smoke, reduce the heat.

  6. Serve warm with hummus or your favourite fillings.

Cooking With Kids Tip

This recipe is brilliant for building confidence with dough. Let children shape their own pittas.
